Film negatives, light, shadow

Hanging spinning sculpture installed in a dark room with 2 light sources producing wall shadows. Sculpture is made with 35mm mixed B&W and Color film negatives strung together delicately with metal rings and suspended from a metal armature.

Memories are different for everyone.

The same moment in type, same place, same people can produce vastly different experiences for varying people. This installation uses film negatives as a visual record of memories and shadow projection to represent differences of remembrance. There are two light sources, one stationary lamp which projects the shadow of the sculpture onto a corner, and a second light which spins with the sculpture illuminating various shadows on all the walls as it moves around the room.
